Great Price Farberware 80966 for $39.94

Earth Pan II by Farberware Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Skillet Review

I registered for and received this Earth Pan set for my Wedding last year and it is still just as durable as the first time I used it. It cleans up wonderfully and cooks very even. I cook about 3-4 times a week. I even let my potato soup bun in the pot once and it came right off! Very Impressive. I've had no issues with the non-stick surface and wonder if it is a defect or if people are not caring for the cookware propperly. I NEVER put my cookware in the dishwasher and even if I let it sit for days with food stuck on it, it still cleans well with soak and water with no damage to the surface. I would encourage others to contact the manufacuter if you are not happy with the product.

10" pan, handle is to heavy, tips easily - pinecabin22 -
This is our first skillet from EarthPan and while I love the surface the handle is extremely large, long and heavy, causing the pan to easily tip.
It's out of balance. They use the same handle on the 12" skillet and other larger pans. If you are going to purchase be sure and buy the 12".

After reading more reviews I'm just waiting for my eggs to stick and it will be returned for refund.

Pretty Slick! - S. McClain - Florida Panhandle
My wife and I love the pan.

Probably buy the 8-inch soon.

Nice, sturdy handle. High sides make it easy to flip omelets.

I've read several reviews about the coating breaking down. We wash this one only by hand, and are careful not to overheat it. It still looks like new.

Works well if you treat it well - Steve -
The Earth Pan II is a big improvement over the original Earth Pan, I am very satisfied.
I have been using the pan for 6 months and typically us it for bacon eggs, French toast etc. Other people have reported that problems with the nonstick loosing it effectiveness over time. I have not experienced this. I suspect that I have not seen these problem because I do not do any high temperature cooking with this pan and I always hand wash it (I do not own a dishwasher). For braising and other high temp cooking I always use a stainless steel skillet.

was good.....for 1 month - Jolene - santa cruz, ca
I waited before reviewing this one! Glad I did. I was amazed for the first month I owned it. I was about to buy a second one...then it started sticking and left irremovable residue. That's too bad, I had hopes! I switched to cast iron!

Budget Meals Under 10 Dollars - Apple Pork Chops

October traditionally is apple buying season. As fall creeps into winter, we find ourselves buying apple cider, making caramel apples for Halloween, and filling our home with the smells of fresh baked apple pies. This is the time of the year when we first put on our winter coats or crank on the heat in the house. It is the perfect time for good, rib-sticking comfort food. Food that goes down warm and sends warmth throughout your body. Food that stays with you all day long. I have a great recipe that is both economical and fits the bill for warmth and taste. As an added benefit, this recipe will generously incorporate the apple and allow us to stay with the theme of the season.

This recipe is also extremely easy to make and uses some wonderful rustic ingredients. These rustic ingredients blend together to create some unbelievable aromas. This recipe calls for two red apples but I always use an extra one for good measure. Sometimes I will mix a Red Delicious with a Granny Smith just to contrast flavors. I hope you will enjoy this economical comfort recipe as much as I do and be sure to look out for our other recipes in this ongoing series on great food made at home under $10!

Apple Pork Chops   Makes 4 Servings   4 pork chops, about 3/4 inch thick   1 onion, chopped,  2 cups mushrooms, sliced,  2 tbsp. balsamic vinaigrette dressing, 1 1/2 cups white rice, uncooked, 1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed chicken broth , 1 can broth water,   2 red apples, chopped, 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves

1. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add chops; cook on medium-high heat 4 minutes on each side or until browned.
2. Add onion, mushrooms, and dressing, Cook an additional 3 minutes.
3. Stir in rice, broth, water, apples and thyme. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 10 minutes or until chops are heated through.

Silit 11-Inch Fry N Serve Pan, Energy Red Review

In the first Indiana Jones film, Marian whacks a bad guy on the head with a frying pan and he goes down hard (I think he died)...meet that frying pan. Its painted like a sexy Lamborghini and is NOT light. The ceramic coating is NOT Teflon and won't flake off when you decide to boil water in it. I've fried eggs with a little butter (this isn't really non-stick), fried fish sticks, and made Chinese noodles ...all with no problems...and cleaned up the pan with water and a sponge.
The only thing that stuck a little (left a "ghost print" which eventually scrubbed off) were Chinese steamed dumplings. I've got this and the 9.5 inch frying pan and am contemplating the 8 inch model. I live in Germany, so the price isn't so insane! Keep your eyes peeled for Silit Silargan cookware like this...I can't imagine you'll be disappointed!

Silit 11-Inch Fry N Serve Pan, Energy Red Feature

  • Extra sturdy steel core provides optimal heat distribution and energy conservation
  • Interior features ultra hard, scratch-resistant smooth ceramic surface; Nickel-free and anti-bacterial
  • Extremely durable and hygienic steel ceramic exterior; Tests have proven colors will not fade even after 1000 cycles in the dishwasher

  • Modern, ergonomically designed all-metal handles are heat insulating and oven proof

Silit 11-Inch Fry N Serve Pan, Energy Red Overview

This Silit Energy Red Fry N Serve Pan features an extra sturdy steel core for the most efficient heat distribution, which translates into energy conservation, while the interior is made of Silargan, an ultra hard, smooth ceramic surface that is nickel-free and anti-bacterial. The exterior of this fabulous fry pan features Silit's durable ceramic coated steel surface, which is scratch- and chip-resistant, along with all metal handles that are heat-insulating and oven-proof. What's extra fabulous and unique about this frypan is the absence of a traditional long handle, instead there are two small handles, making this piece perfect for stovetop-to-table-serving. The rim is designed for spill-free pouring. The attention paid to every detail on this piece underscores Silit's commitment to the highest design and production standards, delivering the very best quality products to your kitchen.
